The Origins of Christmas

and Christmas Traditions

In this article, we are looking at Christmas and Christmas traditions.  If you  frequent this site, you already know that we have serious issues with the traditions of Christmas and Christmas itself.  As  Disciples of Christ, we are to honour OUR King - the Lord Jesus Christ - and we look to see if what we are doing is pleasing to Him.  Did we find any of that in ANY of the Christmas traditions?  Take a look  at our conclusions  and make up your own mind.  As we always say on this site - Do NOT take our word for ANYTHING.  Always  run what you read see and hear by the Lord Jesus Christ personally and then do as He instructs you to do.

WARNING!!!

We will warn you that what we are presenting is going against the doctrinal teachings of many denominations.  Many are going to excouriate this site because we are not following their doctrine.  Many times, the people who are going to say we are teaching ' a false gospel' would be the ones that say that they have read the bible from cover to cover multiple times and will claim to be the 'authority' on the bible because they did that.

So, If you think we are full of it, that's fine.  That is expected.

All we are asking for you to do is to read the content, then  go directly to the Lord Jesus Christ and confirm with HIM what we have been posting.   Confirm with HIM that the things that have been posted are true.   Confirm with HIM that the conclusions are correct.

After you do that, ask Jesus directly what YOU should do, and ask Him to lay out His plan for YOU.  We do not care what you  think about us, Christian, nor do we care what you say about us.  In the grander scheme of  things, it does not matter.  What matters is that we are presenting the gospel  UNFILTERED and not coloured by church doctrine.  What we are presenting affects YOUR salvation, and if you want to gamble with YOUR salvation, that is on you.  You can blow us off if you want to, but like those people who got killed in Texas at a church, you never know when your time will be up.  Hopefully, those people were on the road to salvation, working to get their sin off of their ledger and not just believing that they were saved.

As we always say, and we will repeat here - don't take our word for anything.  ALWAYS confirm what you read and/or hear with the Lord Jesus Christ and do what He tells you to do.

Introduction

Many people today view Christmas as a very happy time where they can get gifts and take days off work, and play in the snow (if you live in a region where there is snow).  Children are happy and excited to have Santa visit them, and many parents tell their children that if they are good, Santa will leave them gifts under the Christmas tree.

Sounds idyllic, doesn't it?  So who doesn't want to get gifts under a tree?

Has anyone asked Jesus what HE thinks of all of this?

As Disciples of Christ, we are commanded to love our Lord and Saviour with all of our heart, mind and soul.  We are also commanded to not put any gods before OUR Lord and Saviour.

What is very interesting is that there are many 'Christians' out there that think this is a holiday that celebrates Christ's birth.  Can't you see all of the manger displays with all of the blinking lights and everyone fawning over how 'beautiful' this is?

Wait a minute.

Are you telling me that THIS is what you think of your Lord and Saviour?

Let us clue you in, Christian.  Let's look up what a manger really is.  A manger is defined as:

noun

  1. a trough or box in a stable, barn, etc, from which horses or cattle feed
  2. (nautical) a basin-like construction in the bows of a vessel for catching water draining from an anchor rode or coming in through the hawseholes

Can you tell us why when we see Jesus in a manger - a box where horses and cattle eat their food - that we get all happy about that?   Our Lord and Saviour was born in a nasty, stank stable and put in a trough because there was no room in the inn for His parents.  They were sent out to stay in the barn - where there is straw, hay and poo from the animals that are in the barn - and we are supposed to be proud of this?

Can you NOT see how the devil does people?

At least they could have had a bed to sleep on, as Mary was with child.  Did you not think that the innkeeper could see this?  So tell me, Christian, WHY are you so 'proud' of the 'baby Jesus' in the manger?

If you think that is bad, it gets worse.

Krampus - Who is this creature?

Above you see a picture of Krampus, the Christmas DEMON.  Yes, you heard that right - a DEMON.  In Germanic folklore, this creature would come by and gather up all of the naughty children and take them to hell.

We are not making this up.

Look at this thing - hairy, nasty and disgusting, with his tongue hanging out.  Does this remind you of some people?

Let's get some more information on this Krampus and what he is all about.

From Wikipedia:

In folklore, Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure described as "half-goat, half-demon", who, during the Christmas season, punishes children who have misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards the well-behaved with gifts. Krampus is one of the companions of Saint Nicholas in several regions including Austria, Bavaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, South Tyrol and parts of Northern Italy. The origin of the figure is unclear; some folklorists and anthropologists have postulated its pre-Christian origin.

The Krampus figures persisted, and by the 17th century Krampus had been incorporated into Christian winter celebrations by pairing Krampus with St Nicholas. Countries of the former Habsburg Empire have largely borrowed the tradition of Krampus accompanying St Nicholas on 5 December from Austria.

Although Krampus appears in many variations, most share some common physical characteristics. He is hairy, usually brown or black, and has the cloven hooves and horns of a goat. His long, pointed tongue lolls out, and he has fangs.

Krampus carries chains, thought to symbolize the binding of the Devil by the Christian Church. He thrashes the chains for dramatic effect. The chains are sometimes accompanied with bells of various sizes. Of more pagan origins are the ruten, bundles of birch branches that Krampus carries and with which he occasionally swats children. The ruten may have had significance in pre-Christian pagan initiation rites. The birch branches are replaced with a whip in some representations. Sometimes Krampus appears with a sack or a basket strapped to his back; this is to cart off evil children for drowning, eating, or transport to Hell. Some of the older versions make mention of naughty children being put in the bag and taken away. This quality can be found in other Companions of Saint Nicholas such as Zwarte Piet.

The Festivals of Krampus

Now that you have seen this nasty, stank, disgusting creature, you would think that people would do what they could to stay away form this thing.

No.

In fact, people are so bewitched by this thing, they have festivals that go on every year.

Yes, festivals.    Where people dress up as this thing, and drink and be merry.

How can you be merry with death, pain, destruction, and misery?

Let's take a look at some of the 'merriment' that Krampus brings.

Krampusnacht

From Wikipedia:

The Feast of St. Nicholas is celebrated in parts of Europe on 6 December. On the preceding evening of 5 December, Krampus Night or Krampusnacht, the wicked hairy devil appears on the streets. Sometimes accompanying St. Nicholas and sometimes on his own, Krampus visits homes and businesses. The Saint usually appears in the Eastern Rite vestments of a bishop, and he carries a golden ceremonial staff. Unlike North American versions of Santa Claus, in these celebrations Saint Nicholas concerns himself only with the good children, while Krampus is responsible for the bad. Nicholas dispenses gifts, while Krampus supplies coal and the ruten bundles.

the Picture on the left is a Krampusnacht celebration in Wasinghton DC.  The Picture on the right is a person who was a 'Krampus' for the night.  As you can see, the little girl in the picture is REALLY wanting to be there (/sarcasm off).  Ladies and gentlemen, this is what we have sunk to - celebrations of demons, and many people think this is 'fun', not knowing that they have damned their souls because these are the gods they are worshipping.

Krampuslauf

This is Krampuslauf, which is translated as Krampus run or walk (yes, like a 5K or 10K run).  In these pictures , you can see this is like a parade where the 'Krampen'  go and  'assault' the people.     Demonic 'fun' is NO fun, people.

From Wikipedia:

It is customary to offer a Krampus schnapps, a strong distilled fruit brandy. These runs may include Perchten, similarly wild pagan spirits of Germanic folklore and sometimes female in representation, although the Perchten are properly associated with the period between winter solstice and 6 January.

Krampuskarten

And yes, we have Krampus greeting cards.  This is no joke, Christian.  There are some pictures above of the cards that people will actually send to each other.

From Wikipedia:

KrampusKarten is translated as Krampus cards/greeting cards.  Europeans have been exchanging greeting cards featuring Krampus since the 1800s. Sometimes introduced with Gruß vom Krampus (Greetings from Krampus), the cards usually have humorous rhymes and poems. Krampus is often featured looming menacingly over children. He is also shown as having one human foot and one cloven hoof. In some, Krampus has sexual overtones; he is pictured pursuing buxom women. Over time, the representation of Krampus in the cards has changed; older versions have a more frightening Krampus, while modern versions have a cuter, more Cupid-like creature.  Krampus has also adorned postcards and candy containers.

Hard to believe, isn't it?

Looks like someone has decided that the 'demon-look' is not something that everyone will accept, so they change it to suit their needs.  That does not change the fact that this is a demon that everyone is celebrating.  A Disciple of Christ will NEVER celebrate a demon over the Lord Jesus Christ, His Father, the Lord of Hosts or the Holy Ghost.  Sadly, many people who call themselves 'Christians' celebrate this demon, who has transformed himself from that vile, nasty, putrid creature he is into something more palatable.

Introducing - St. Nickolas

The 'palatable' person that was put forth is St. Nickolas.  Who was St. Nicholas?  From Wikipedia:

Saint Nicholas of Myra was a 4th-century Greek Christian bishop of Myra (now Demre) in Lycia, a province of the Byzantine Empire, now in Turkey. Nicholas was famous for his generous gifts to the poor, in particular presenting the three impoverished daughters of a pious Christian with dowries so that they would not have to become prostitutes. He was very religious from an early age and devoted his life entirely to Christianity. In continental Europe (more precisely the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, the Czech Republic and Germany) he is usually portrayed as a bearded bishop in canonical robes.

The remains of Saint Nicholas are in Italy. In 1087, the Italian city of Bari mounted an expedition to locate the tomb of the Saint. The reliquary of St. Nicholas was conquered by Italian sailors and his relics were taken to Bari where they are kept to this day. A basilica was constructed the same year to store the loot and the area became a pilgrimage site for the devout. Sailors from Bari collected just half of Nicholas' skeleton, leaving all the minor fragments in the grave. These were collected by Venetian sailors during the First Crusade and taken to Venice, where a church to St. Nicholas, the patron of sailors, was built on the San Nicolò al Lido. This tradition was confirmed in two important scientific investigations of the relics in Bari and Venice, which revealed that the relics in the two Italian cities belong to the same skeleton. Saint Nicholas was later claimed as a patron saint of many diverse groups, from archers, sailors, and children to pawnbrokers. He is also the patron saint of both Amsterdam and Moscow.

During the Middle Ages, often on the evening before his name day of 6 December, children were bestowed gifts in his honour. This date was earlier than the original day of gifts for the children, which moved in the course of the Reformation and its opposition to the veneration of saints in many countries on the 24th and 25th of December. So Saint Nicholas changed to Santa Claus. The custom of gifting to children at Christmas has been propagated by Martin Luther as an alternative to the previous very popular gift custom on St. Nicholas, to focus the interest of the children to Christ instead of the veneration of saints. Martin Luther first suggested the Christkind as the bringer of gifts. But Nicholas remained popular as gifts bearer for the people.

This guy seems like a good fellow, doesn't he?  But wait - there is another facelift that the devil put on this person so he will be palatable to the masses.

Father Christmas

From Wikipedia:

Father Christmas is the traditional English name for the personification of Christmas. Although now known as a Christmas gift-bringer, and normally considered to be synonymous with American culture's Santa Claus which is now known worldwide, he was originally part of an unrelated and much older English folkloric tradition. The recognisably modern figure of the English Father Christmas developed in the late Victorian period, but Christmas had been personified for centuries before then.

English personifications of Christmas were first recorded in the 15th century, with Father Christmas himself first appearing in the mid 17th century in the aftermath of the English Civil War. The Puritan-controlled English government had legislated to abolish Christmas, considering it papist, and had outlawed its traditional customs. Royalist political pamphleteers, linking the old traditions with their cause, adopted Old Father Christmas as the symbol of 'the good old days' of feasting and good cheer. Following the Restoration in 1660, Father Christmas's profile declined. His character was maintained during the late 18th and into the 19th century by the Christmas folk plays later known as mummers plays.

Until Victorian times, Father Christmas was concerned with adult feasting and merry-making. He had no particular connection with children, nor with the giving of presents, nocturnal visits, stockings or chimneys. But as later Victorian Christmases developed into child-centric family festivals, Father Christmas became a bringer of gifts. The popular American myth of Santa Claus arrived in England in the 1850s and Father Christmas started to take on Santa's attributes. By the 1880s the new customs had become established, with the nocturnal visitor sometimes being known as Santa Claus and sometimes as Father Christmas. He was often illustrated wearing a long red hooded gown trimmed with white fur.

Any residual distinctions between Father Christmas and Santa Claus largely faded away in the early years of the 20th century, and modern dictionaries consider the terms Father Christmas and Santa Claus to be synonymous.

and this benevolent fellow then morphs into the following persona:

Sinter Klaas/Santa Claus

From Wikipedia:

In the Netherlands and Belgium the character of Santa Claus has to compete with that of Sinterklaas, Santa's presumed progenitor. Santa Claus is known as de Kerstman in Dutch ("the Christmas man") and Père Noël ("Father Christmas") in French. But for children in the Netherlands Sinterklaas remains the predominant gift-giver in December; 36% of the Dutch only give presents on Sinterklaas day (December 6th), whereas Christmas (December 25th) is used by another 21% to give presents. Some 26% of the Dutch population gives presents on both days. In Belgium, Sinterklaas day presents are offered exclusively to children, whereas on Christmas Day, all ages may receive presents. Sinterklaas' assistants are called "Zwarte Pieten" (in Dutch, "Pères Fouettard" in French), so they are not elves.

This is the guy we see today that children all around the world wait for to bring them presents.

The companions of St. Nicholas

To make things more palatable for the masses, the devil decided to make a 'nice' figure and made himself the 'naughty' figure.  The 'nice' figure is put forth, and if the children are naughty, then the 'bad' figure is put forth.  The devil, in effect is hiding behind a facade - which does not exist - so he can still have access to the children.

From Wikipedia:

The companions of Saint Nicholas are a group of closely related figures who accompany Saint Nicholas throughout the territories formerly in the Holy Roman Empire. These characters act as a foil to the benevolent Christmas gift-bringer, threatening to thrash or abduct disobedient children. Jacob Grimm (Deutsche Mythologie) associated this character with the pre-Christian house spirit (kobold, elf) which could be benevolent or malicious, but whose mischievous side was emphasized after Christianization. The association of the Christmas gift-bringer with elves has parallels in English and Scandinavian folklore, and is ultimately and remotely connected to the modern Christmas elf in American folklore.

Names for the "dark" or threatening companion figure include: Knecht Ruprecht in Germany, Krampus in Austria, Bavaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Friuli, Hungary (spelled Krampusz); Klaubauf in Bavaria, Austria; Bartel in Styria; Pelzebock; Befana; Pelznickel; Belzeniggl; Belsnickel in the Palatinate (and also Pennsylvania, due to Pennsylvania Dutch influence); Schmutzli in Switzerland; Rumpelklas; Bellzebub; Hans Muff; Drapp; Buzebergt in Augsburg and Little Babushka in Russia.

The corresponding figure in the Netherlands and Flanders is called Zwarte Piet or Black Pete, and in Swiss folklore Schmutzli, (schmutz meaning dirt). In the Czech Republic, Saint Nicholas or svatý Mikuláš is accompanied by the čert (Devil) and anděl (Angel). In France, Saint Nicholas' companion is called "Rubbels" in German-speaking Lorraine and Hanstrapp (in Alsace, East of France) and the Père Fouettard (Wallonia, Northern and Eastern France).

Knecht Ruprecht

From Wikipedia:

In the folklore of Germany, Knecht Ruprecht, which translates as Farmhand Rupert or Servant Rupert, is a companion of Saint Nicholas, and possibly the most familiar. Tradition holds that he appeared in homes on Christmas Eve, and was a man with a long beard, wearing fur or covered in pea-straw. Knecht Ruprecht sometimes carried a long staff and a bag of ashes, and wore little bells on his clothes.

According to tradition, Knecht Ruprecht asks children whether they know their prayers. If they do, they receive apples, nuts, and gingerbread. If they do not, he beats the children with his bag of ashes. In other (presumably more modern) versions of the story, Knecht Ruprecht gives naughty children gifts such as lumps of coal, sticks, and stones, while well-behaving children receive sweets from Saint Nicholas. He also can be known to give naughty children a switch (stick) in their shoes instead of candy, fruit and nuts, in the German tradition.

Ruprecht was a common name for the devil in Germany and Grimm states that “Robin fellow is the same home-sprite whom we in Germany call Knecht Ruprecht and exhibit to children at Christmas...” Knecht Ruprecht first appears in written sources in the 17th century, as a figure in a Nuremberg Christmas procession.

According to Alexander Tille, Knecht Ruprecht represented an archetypal manservant, "and has exactly as much individuality of social rank and as little personal individuality as the Junker Hanns and the Bauer Michel, the characters representative of country nobility and peasantry respectively.” Tille also states that Knecht Ruprecht originally had no connection with Christmastime.

Ruprecht sometimes walks with a limp, because of a childhood injury. Often, his black clothes and dirty face are attributed to the soot he collects as he goes down chimneys. In some of the Ruprecht traditions, the children would be summoned to the door to perform tricks, such as a dance or singing a song to impress upon Santa and Ruprecht that they were indeed good children. Those who performed badly would be beaten soundly by Servant Ruprecht, and those who performed well were given a gift or some treats. Those who performed badly enough or had committed other misdeeds throughout the year were put into Ruprecht's sack and taken away, variously to Ruprecht’s home in the Black Forest to be consumed later, or to be tossed into a river. In other versions the children must be asleep, and would awake to find their shoes filled with either sweets, coal, or in some cases a stick.

Have you ever wondered why the companions of 'Santa' seem to be creepier and creepier?

Belsnickel

From Wikipedia:

Belsnickel is a companion of Saint Nicholas in the Palatinate (Pfalz), Germany. Belsnickel is a man wearing fur which covers his entire body, and he sometimes wears a mask with a long tongue. He is a rather scary creature who visits children at Christmas time and delivers socks or shoes full of candy, but if the children were not good, they will find coal and/or switches in their stockings instead.

In parts of the United States in the 19th century, "Pelznickel" traditions were maintained for a time among immigrants at least as far west as the US state of Indiana. Today, remnants of this tradition remain, known as the Belsnickel, especially in Pennsylvania.

A first-hand 19th-century account of the "Beltznickle" tradition in Allegany County, Maryland, can be found in Brown's Miscellaneous Writings, a collection of essays by Jacob Brown (born 1824). Writing of a period around 1830, Brown says, "we did not hear of" Santa Claus. Instead, the tradition called for a visit by a different character altogether:

He was known as Kriskinkle, Beltznickle and sometimes as the Xmas woman. Children then not only saw the mysterious person, but felt him or rather his stripes upon their backs with his switch. The annual visitor would make his appearance some hours after dark, thoroughly disguised, especially the face, which would sometimes be covered with a hideously ugly phiz – generally wore a female garb – hence the name Christmas woman – sometimes it would be a veritable woman but with masculine force and action. He or she would be equipped with an ample sack about the shoulders filled with cakes, nuts, and fruits, and a long hazel switch which was supposed to have some kind of a charm in it as well as a sting. One would scatter the goodies upon the floor, and then the scramble would begin by the delighted children, and the other hand would ply the switch upon the backs of the excited youngsters – who would not show a wince, but had it been parental discipline there would have been screams to reach a long distance.

On the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada, a Christmas tradition known as Belsnickling occurs, where, similar to mummering, people go from house to house within the communities dressed in multiple layers of clothing and with scarves around their faces to conceal their identity. These people are then given food and drinks (usually rum or eggnog) until their identities are guessed, and then they're off to the next house.

Zwarte Piet (Black Pete)

From Wikipedia:

Zwarte Piet (English: Black Peter or Black Pete, Luxembourgish: Schwaarze Péiter) is the companion of Saint Nicholas (Dutch: Sinterklaas, Luxembourgish: Kleeschen) in the folklore of the Low Countries. The character first appeared in his current form in an 1850 book by Jan Schenkman and is commonly depicted as a blackamoor. Traditionally Zwarte Piet is said to be black because he is a Moor from Spain. Participants portraying Zwarte Piet typically wear blackface make-up, by painting their faces black, wearing exaggerated red lipstick, and a "nappy" or "kinky" wig, as well as colorful Renaissance attire and gold earrings. The character has become a reoccurring subject of controversy, especially in the Netherlands, for its cultural and ethnic insensitivity. Historically, Zwarte Piet is referred to as a servant or subject, not a companion.

So why is all of this necessary?

As the devil morphs himself, you can see that he ALWAYS has access to the children.  The devil likes children, as he can use the children to get the parents to do what he wants, or he will kill  the children just because he can.  Notice that as the companion of 'Santa/St. Nickolas', he has the 'job' of swatting (hurting) children.  A parent has the duty and obligation to protect their children for all things that can hurt them, so why in the world would a parent willingly subject their children to a demon?

Pagan rituals and festivals

meet the Catholic Church

For Santa Claus to become a household name, something or someone had to promote this as being a 'good' thing.  You can thank the Roman catholic church for that, as they wanted to unify the pagan world with the roman world.  the Roman Catholic Church 'decided' to take the pagan rituals that many were used to and 'incorporate' them into 'Christianity', deeming the rituals NOT pagan anymore.  Of course you know that these pagan rituals of Saturnalia brought in the money for the church and keep the Roman empire cohesive.  It was the Roman empire that 'decided' that Dec 25th was a good day  for their 'Christ's Mass', and THEY deemed that Jesus' birthday should be on that same day.  Never mind that Jesus was most likely born in September, but 'they' decided that this was good enough.

It is interesting how 'they' still determine things for people today.

SO, the Roman empire mixed the pagan rituals of Saturnalia with 'Jesus' and declared this as how things are to be.  Many people to this day never checked with Jesus to see if December 25th is really His birthday; they just believe it because it is a tradition.

And you wonder why the devil continues to deceive the whole world.

The Church can tell people all they want that the winter festivals are all about Jesus and we are to believe that this is the way it is.  They never asked Jesus; they never asked the Holy Ghost; they never even asked Jesus' Father.

Before we go on, let's see what Saturnalia is:  From Wikipedia:

Saturnalia was an ancient Roman festival in honour of the god Saturn, held on 17 December of the Julian calendar and later expanded with festivities through to 23 December. The holiday was celebrated with a sacrifice at the Temple of Saturn, in the Roman Forum, and a public banquet, followed by private gift-giving, continual partying, and a carnival atmosphere that overturned Roman social norms: gambling was permitted, and masters provided table service for their slaves.[1] The poet Catullus called it "the best of days". It was the Roman equivalent to the earlier Greek holiday of Kronia, which was celebrated during the Attic month of Hekatombaion in late midsummer.

In Roman mythology, Saturn was an agricultural deity who was said to have reigned over the world in the Golden Age, when humans enjoyed the spontaneous bounty of the earth without labor in a state of innocence. The revelries of Saturnalia were supposed to reflect the conditions of the lost mythical age, not all of them desirable. The Greek equivalent was the Kronia, which was celebrated on the twelfth day of the month of Hekatombaion, which occurred from around mid-July to mid-August on the Attic calendar.

Saturnalia is a festival of light leading to the winter solstice, with the abundant presence of candles symbolizing the quest for knowledge and truth. The renewal of light and the coming of the new year was celebrated in the later Roman Empire at the Dies Natalis Solis Invicti, the "Birthday of the Unconquerable Sun", on 23 December.

The popularity of Saturnalia continued into the 3rd and 4th centuries AD, and as the Roman Empire came under Christian rule, many of its customs were recast into or at least influenced the seasonal celebrations surrounding Christmas and the New Year.

The Lord of Hosts, Jesus' Father,

HATES Christmas

It is quite obvious that many people are deceived because they celebrate these holidays. If you are a Christian, you should be ashamed of yourself because you are worshipping the devil through these 'celebrations'.

Yes, YOU.

Do you reall think that the Lord is going to be happy with you?  Do you think that He is going to accept you with open arms when you have been doing the things that He told you NOT to do?   Let's take a look at some of the things that those who celebrate Christmas are violating:

Exodus 20:3 - Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Deuteronomy 8:19 - And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

2 Chronicles 7:19-20 - But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.  And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house? And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

Take Heed, Christian, this is why you are in a land that is under judgment.

So what, you say, this was the OLD testament.  We don't worship Idols, because I am a 'Christian' (as you puff up your chest).

Well, then, Christian, you seem to be worshipping that Christmas tree you have in your house.  Is that not worship when you are bowing down to and singing to your tree?

Have you forgotten O tannenbaum?

From Wikipedia:

"O Tannenbaum" (German: [oː ˈtanənbaʊm]; "O fir tree", English: “O Christmas Tree”) is a German Christmas song. Based on a traditional folk song, it became associated with the traditional Christmas tree by the early 20th century and sung as a Christmas carol.

The modern lyrics were written in 1824, by the Leipzig organist, teacher and composer Ernst Anschütz. A Tannenbaum is a fir tree. The lyrics do not actually refer to Christmas, or describe a decorated Christmas tree. Instead, they refer to the fir's evergreen qualities as a symbol of constancy and faithfulness.[1]

Anschütz based his text on a 16th-century Silesian folk song by Melchior Franck, "Ach Tannenbaum". Joachim August Zarnack (1777–1827) in 1819 wrote a tragic love song inspired by this folk song, taking the evergreen, "faithful" fir tree as contrasting with a faithless lover. The folk song first became associated with Christmas with Anschütz, who added two verses of his own to the first, traditional verse. The custom of the Christmas tree developed in the course of the 19th century, and the song came to be seen as a Christmas carol. Anschütz's version still had treu (true, faithful) as the adjective describing the fir's leaves (needles), harking back to the contrast to the faithless maiden of the folk song. This was changed to grün (green) at some point in the 20th century, after the song had come to be associated with Christmas.

Here are lyrics:

In German:

O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,

Wie treu sind deine Blätter!

Du grünst nicht nur zur Sommerzeit,

Nein, auch im Winter, wenn es schneit.

O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,

Wie treu sind deine Blätter!

O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,

Du kannst mir sehr gefallen!

Wie oft hat nicht zur Weihnachtszeit

Ein Baum von dir mich hoch erfreut!

O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,

Du kannst mir sehr gefallen!

O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,

Dein Kleid will mich was lehren:

Die Hoffnung und Beständigkeit

Gibt Mut und Kraft zu jeder Zeit!

O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,

Dein Kleid will mich was lehren!

In English:

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree!

How are thy leaves so verdant!

Not only in the summertime,

But even in winter is thy prime.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

How are thy leaves so verdant!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

Much pleasure dost thou bring me!

For ev'ry year the Christmas tree,

Brings to us all both joy and glee.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

Much pleasure dost thou bring me!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

How lovely are thy branches!

Not only green when summer's here

But in the coldest time of year.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

How lovely are thy branches!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

How sturdy God hath made thee!

Thou bidd'st us all place faithfully

Our trust in God, unchangingly!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

How sturdy God hath made thee!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

Thy candles shine out brightly!

Each bough doth hold its tiny light,

That makes each toy to sparkle bright.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,

Thy candles shine out brightly!

So there you sit, singing this song to a tree, and you think that this is of the Lord.  What did the Lord say about making things of your hands and worshipping it?

Isaiah 2:7 - Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots: Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:

Jeremiah 10:2-6 - Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

So how does THIS glorify the Lord when we are bowing down and worshipping a tree?  Do you think Jesus will be very happy with you if you did this?

(Full disclosure - Jeremiah 10:2-6 is actualy talking about a person who is using a tree to make an idol, as this is crafted by a workman's hands.  Can a tree that is   used to become an idol  itself BE an idol if used in that manner?

We suggest you bring this up to the Lord Jesus Christ for yourself and ask Him if this scripture applies.

However, we should be always be following  Jeremiah 10:2,  which says that we are NOT to learn the way of the heathen.  Is erecting and decorating a tree the way(s) of the heathen?  You decide, as we really do not care if you believe that or notAs always,  do not take our word for anything.  Ask The Lord Jesus Christ yourself and run what you see posted by Him and do what He tells you to do. )

The Christmas Spirit

In this article, we have tried to show that the tradition(s) that have been passed down to us from our parents is a tradition that does NOT exalt Jesus.  In the same vein, we see that the Christmas spirit is one that is promoted and talked about this time of the year.

Wait a minute.

Doesn't this mean that if you invite in the 'Christmas spirit', you will be grieving the Holy Spirit?

Take a look at the picture above.  Notice it says to INVITE in the Christmas spirit.  That means you are allowing that Christmas spirit to take you over and be in you if you invite it.

Do you think that the Holy Spirit will be anywhere around you if you willingly invite in ANOTHER spirit?  This is the trick and the trap, Christian.   The Holy Spirit will NOT be around anything that is unclean, and the Christmas spirit is UNCLEAN.

Why is it unclean?

It is because that spirit is NOT of the Lord; it is a secondary spirit and it is UNCLEAN. The Holy Spirit is Holy.  If there is an unclean spirit, and you wish to 'have' that spirit, the Holy Spirit will leave you to that spirit.  The Spirit of the Lord will NOT share His Glory with anyone.    A person inviting in another spirit grieves the Holy Spirit, and you will need to do some heavy repenting to beg Jesus to send the Holy Spirit back to you after you have grieved Him.

We are pointing this out in this article because many 'Christians' are ignorant of the devices that have been put down for them to 'enjoy' which are damning them.  In our other articles, you can see that 98% of 'Christians' will NOT make it into the Kingdom of God, and this is one of the main reasons why they are not allowed in.

If you follow Jesus, you would NEVER give up the Holy Ghost for anything or anyone.  As you walk with the Holy Ghost, you get to know Him, and you get to really like Him being around you.  You also will NOT throw away a precious gift, which the Holy Ghost is, for a 'Christmas spirit' or any other spirit.  Jesus will NOT be very happy with you if the Holy Ghost is grieved, and remember that what Jesus says goes.       By grieving the Holy Spirit, you have just  damned yourself, as the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Lord which permeates and saturates  the kingdom of God that you are trying to get into and not go to hell.

Many people are deceived and will be sent away from Jesus when he brings up the fact that they have forsaken Him for another god.  Jesus is going to send you to be with whom your heart belongs to, and if you worship that god, you will be sent to be with that god.

If this is you, Christian, stop everything that you are doing and ask Jesus for forgiveness, as you have been deceived and you were ignorant of the  things you were doing.  Let Jesus Clean you up and help you cast out that unclean spirit of Christmas that you let in ignorantly and then follow Jesus in Spirit and in truth.  You can follow the guide to repenting  if you click here.  Now that you know, Christian, get your ledger clear of this as soon as you can - like right now - and get right with Jesus before it is too late.

Many churches celebrate Christmas

and promote the Christmas spirit

It is unfortunate that many pastors and churches will celebrate the devil at the end of the year.  They put on Christmas shows, plays and skits where they are indoctrinating the young people that Christmas is OK when it is not.  The young people are ignorant, and it opens up the door for the devil to have legal rights to destroy them and their families when they get older.  This is one of the methods used by the devil to  'recruit' those he wants when the children get to the age of decision.

Have you ever wondered how a good, church going young man or young lady all of a sudden become the child of the devil when they get to be 17 or 18?  The parents are sitting there wondering how their young daughter has become a whore, laying with the football team, basketball team, and the baseball team at school,  and their young man has become a whoremonger 'nailing' women of every shape size and getting his oral sex from those male and female whores  with or without teeth, when they 'went to church'.  The parents have no idea that celebrating 'Christmas' was one of the many avenues that the devil uses to enslave humanity.

Stop Lying to your Children, Christian

When you lied to your children about Santa Claus, you not only sealed your fate (if you don't repent of all of your lies), but the fate of your children as well.  How many 'Christian' people are in hell today because they lied to their children about Santa Claus and DID NOT REPENT OF THOSE LIES?  The Bible says that all liars will have their place in the lake of fire, doesn't it?   Just so you will remember, here is ther scripture:

Revelation 21:8 - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Not only did you lie, you turned your children away from the Lord Jesus Christ TO the devil as you have your children believing in "Santa Claus'.  The devil changed his name from 'old Nick' to 'St. Nick' so you will remain deceived.  'Old Nick' is a colloquial name for 'the devil' in Britian!

So now you are leading your chldren astray from the Lord, and you are a "Christian', right?

What did Jesus say about harming the children?

Matthew 18:4-6 - Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

As parents, especially the men/husbands/fathers, we are to be the spiritual leaders of our households.  We are to train our children to Love the Lord Jesus Christ, and show them the gospel so they can choose to serve HIM.  Look at what we are doing to our children, Christian, and then we wonder why they have no protection from the devil.

It is YOU, Christian, that handed the devil your children on a silver platter so he can enslave or kill them whenever he feels like it.

How sad is that?

Final Thoughts

We are going to end this article with some hope and exhortation that you get with the Lord Jesus Christ and get your forgiveness for this travesty that is destroying households all over the world.  Learn how to keep your household Holy, as the Lord has commanded His Disciples to be Holy.  Learn how to go to the Lord Jesus Christ FIRST and ask HIM before you follow ANY 'tradition'.

Why is it that this is not being taught in churches today?  Can we not see that worshipping a tree (we know, it sounds stupid when you are not spellbound by it), dumping the Holy Ghost for the Christmas Spirit, and thinking that following the canons of the Roman Catholic Church which put our Lord and Saviour in a stank, nasty, poo filled, smelly manger and exalting Him as 'baby Jesus' is NOT what the Lord wants us to do?

We already know that 99% of the people reading this article will reject it and say 'I am going to worship the Baby Jesus ANYWAY, no matter what these clowns say'.  You can do that, as you have a free will.  We are here to proclaim the gospel, not sell it.  It is up to you to dig into this for yourself.  It is up to YOU to ask Jesus if what we have posted is true.  It is up to you to make that determination because YOUR salvation is on the line, NOT ours.  We are to worship the Lord Jesus Christ in spirit and in TRUTH, and thinking that a big fat, stank, nasty, reindeer sleigh driving man with gifts, who will NOT fit in a chimney no matter how much you stuff him into it is TRUTH is up to YOU to decide.

Just so you know - it took us 4 days to write this article, as there was much opposition against this being published (writing these articles usually take us a few hours).  It took the power of the Lord Jesus Christ to get the opposition to stand down so this article could be written.  If you think we are wrong, then that is fine; you have a free will.  YOU can choose to believe what you want to.

We also used Wikipedia as a source  to show you that this information is readily available to you if you were to just look it up.  The devil doesn't even hide it anymore because he knows that many of you are having 'fun' rather than studying  the Word of God, righty dividing the Word, talking with Jesus Christ as often as possible so you can make it into the Kingdom of God by casting aside all traditions that are of the devil.

The devil goes as far to tell you that he is EVIL, but you don't care.  You would rather have 'fun' than to know the truth, repent, and get those sins off of your ledger.

However, if you can see that the whole world lies with the wicked one, and you are serious about being a true Disciple of Christ, take some time and ask Jesus Directly about what you have read.  As we always say on this site - Don't take our word for ANYTHING.  Always go to Jesus Directly and ask Him about what was posted.  It is up to YOU, Christian, as it is YOUR salvation that is on the line.

Here is Our Challenge

to you, Christian

OK, so you have read the Hot Topics.  We challenge you to go to Jesus directly RIGHT NOW and ask Him if what is shown here is true.  Use this as a means to start a conversation with The Lord Jesus Christ and sit with Him and ask Him questions.  Start with (asking out loud):

“Jesus, is what I just read true?”

He will answer you, Christian, and NOW you will be on the true road to salvation, knowing for SURE if you are going to make it or not, as Jesus would have told you.  Keep talking with Him.  Get to know Him and He will start to reveal Himself to you.  You need to find out for yourself and work out YOUR salvation for YOU, as the scriptures tell us to.

As a part of your salvation, it is recommended that you  FORGIVE the pastors and the churches that were sending you to hell.  For many pastors, this is what they were taught in the seminary.  Many 'pastors' that pastor a church don't even know Jesus and are not authorized to be a pastor, as Jesus did not send them.  Forgive them and pray for them so they may escape damnation by repenting of their sin of misleading many people.  Get more tips on how to talk to the Lord directly here.

In closing, we want to give you an EXACT QUOTE we got from Jesus Himself:

"Disciples of mine will make it into my Kingdom; Christians will NOT."

Take heed, Christian, and don't just blow this off.  What is being presented here is IMPORTANT!!  Read and understand what the Lord Jesus Christ is saying  to all of us.  As we always say, do not take anything we say as the gospel; ALWAYS confirm what you are reading or hearing by running it by the Lord Jesus Christ yourself.  Keep talking to Jesus and He will respond to you.  Have Him explain WHY what is being said is true.  Talk with the Lord Jesus Christ and get to know Him personally.

We will say this again:

We do not care what you believe, Christian, because it is YOUR salvation that is at stake.  All we are saying is that you should go to Jesus Christ directly and ask HIM what He thinks and go with that truth.  As we always say on this site - don't take our word for anything. Go to the Lord Jesus Christ directly and personally ask Him if what is being posted is true or not, and go with that.
